Circle City Copperworks Copper Countertops

Circle City Copperworks Copper Countertops

Copper countertops add warm natural beauty to your decor. Circle City Copperworks can integrate copper prep sinks or even full size copper kitchen sinks into our countertops. We craft all of our counters from 48 ounce copper, which is .0647" thick  or 14 gauge and can stand up to everyday household wear. Make sure when you are comparing other copper companies, that this is what thickness they are using.  Often, other companies use 16 or 20 oz. thin copper, and glue them to the top.  We adhere thick copper with a method that uses solder, not glue, and allows for the lifetime guarantee we provide.  It will never come loose of the substrate, while "glued" copper will over time.

Circle City Copperworks fabricates copper countertops as complete units. When you receive one of our countertops, all you will need to do is fasten it to your cabinet or table, no further work is required. We build a wood substrate and wrap it with the copper down the sides and slightly underneath so that only copper is visible. We then weld, grind, and sand all edges and/or seams to make it one complete solid unit. We then mechanically attach the substrate to the copper from underneath. We do not use any types of glues or epoxies because none of them are recommended to adhere copper and will fail over time. Our countertops are fully attached and solid for a life time, unlike others that glue or fasten their tops which will eventually bubble or pucker over time. We have found this out overtime for ourselves. All of our standard options as far as hammer and/or patina finishes are available, like all other copper products that we make.

Copper as a surface is for those owners who will accept that this surface will evolve with time. Your copper counter will age with use and establish a deeper, solid color over the surface. On most of our countertops we recommend waxing. Upkeep will require applying a food grade wax to the surface of your copper counter. Every 6 months to a year you should reapply a wax coating to maintain the patina and create a barrier against water and other liquids. This will not stop all stains from happening, we have tested a bunch of different waxes and we have found that wax will help protect, but the copper will still change overtime. If this is an issue, then we can add a clear coat that will protect the copper better from any staining. You only need to clean the countertop with hot water and dish soap or mild hand soap. No harsh chemicals needed. Various edge profiles can change the look and design of copper countertops. If you have other ideas in mind, sketch something up and send it to us, to see if this is a possible option for your countertop edge.

Edge Choices

Below are some of our countertop edge options. The standard is what will be included in the pricing of our copper countertops. The next three options are upgrades in order of price. If you want a completely custom edge profile, give us a call and we will see if we can make it happen for you as well.

Clavos add an additional option to finish off your countertop.

Double Sink Kitchen Copper Countertop

This was created for a local builder/designer here in Indianapolis. He came to us to help beautify this kitchen with a very big and tight fitting copper countertop. A template was needed to make sure it fit tight in between the brick columns. It has two Traditional Style sinks integrated and is hammered with a light brown patina. It is 42” wide and 9’ long.

Smooth Copper Countertop 1/2

This smooth copper countertop was fabricated for a model home for a custom builder in Southern Florida.  We worked with the kitchen company on this model home.  It is a mottled patina without the "veining" lines. They wanted to match the cabinet angles in the front and have a radius back to overhang and use as a bar top.

Smooth Copper Countertop with Signature Series Sink 2/2

This countertop was for the same model home as the picture above in Southern Florida. You can see from the two pictures that the mottled patina looks close to the same on both of the countertops, but there are slight differences.

Hammered Copper Countertop With A Drink Rail ($4750)

This countertop was created for a client in Wausau, Wisconsin. This was taken before we did the patina and has a regular Hammered finish. You can see in the picture the seams where we welded it together. It is 14 SF total, 8’ OD on the long leg and 5’ on the short leg. The drink rail was fabricated from the same sheet of copper, then adhered to the substrate. Please give us a call for pricing or with any questions.

Traditional Style Integrated Copper Countertop

Our hammered designs are very popular for that special touch, along with the nice rounded corners. This is pictured in a medium brown patina. The Traditional style sink is 10” deep and is welded directly to the copper top to have a seamless appearance. The top is 6’ long and 4’ wide. Please give us a call, fax or email to get started on your own custom design.

Custom Copper Countertop with Integrated Sink

This is a picture of a Medieval hammered countertop, that is 8' long and 25" wide. The finish is of the mottled patina. Mottled patina is a very abstract patina, it will always look a little different from one piece to the next. The double bowl sink has an integrated drying rack added.

Signature Series Sink Integrated Island Copper Countertop

This copper counter top graces Martha’s Vineyard in Maryland. It is a very large island top measuring 6’ wide by 7’ long. Because of its large size, this countertop does have a welded seam, although you can’t notice it. We don’t do butt seams, we build most of ours as one piece so that they do not come apart in the future. This is pictured in bare hammered copper, with no patina applied.

Hand Hammered Spun Sink Copper Vanity Top

This is a beautiful copper vanity top with copper filigree all the way around the edges. This top is hammered with a medium brown patina and was shipped to California. The sink is a spun copper sink that was hammered by hand and welded into the top for a seamless look. We can also pre-drill for all types of faucets. Please call, fax or email us to discuss the pricing and options available for our countertops.

Medieval Hammered Copper Countertop with Spun Sink

This is a Medieval hammered vanity top in a flamed patina. The sink has a 12" dia. and is smooth. The customer wanted to mix it up a little by having the top be hammered and the sink smooth. We can do this type of thing with most of our items.

Bathroom Copper Countertop

This is a special shaped vanity top. It was designed to perfectly match the shape of the cabinet under it. We can cut any size opening to fit whatever style of sink you choose to install. This is pictured in a hammered copper with a light brown patina. Notice the backsplash; we can do this on all countertops. Please call, fax or email Circle City Copperworks to discuss the pricing and options available for our countertops.

Corner Copper Countertop

We can shape a countertop to any design concepts including corners as depicted. Any size is possible. All of our Copper Countertops are manufactured using 48 oz. pure American copper and are installed over a hard substrate surface. Please call for pricing and options available for our countertops. No lead, tin, or arsenic content is contained, like you will find in foreign copper products.

Flamed Copper Countertop

We fabricated this for customer in Illinois. We had tight tolerances on this, since there is a pass through opening into the living room. They also bought the Outdoor Fireplace Cap on the custom copper projects page. Picture shows one of our Signature Series drop in farmhouse sinks. We notched it to fit around over the edge of the countertop. This flame patina leans more towards the dark oranges and reds.
